What house cleaning costs around Puget Sound
Most cleaners quote after a short call or a walk-through. The ranges below come from a national cost survey. Use them to sanity-check a quote, then ask what the quote leaves out.
The national numbers
HomeAdvisor's 2025 figures:
- Standard visit: $118 to $238, average $176.
- Deep clean: $200 to $400 per visit.
- Move-in or move-out: up to $500, depending on home size.
- Weekly service: $75 to $200 per visit. Every two weeks: $100 to $250.
- Hourly: companies charge $25 to $80, averaging $50.

Why your quote may be higher
Labor costs more here. The median wage for maids and housekeepers in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area was $21.59 an hour in May 2025. The U.S. median was $17.07. (BLS) A company that pays its people, carries insurance and pays L&I premiums has to price above the national middle.
When one quote sits far below the others, ask how the company pays its crew for travel time and whether it carries workers' comp through L&I.
What moves the price
- Frequency. A weekly home has less buildup, so each visit is shorter.
- Size and layout. Bathrooms and stairs take longer than open rooms.
- Add-ons. Inside the oven or fridge, interior windows, baseboards and laundry are often extra.
- First visit. Ask whether the first clean is priced as a deep clean and what the recurring rate is after that.
Get the quote in writing
Ask for three things on paper or email: the price per visit, what is included, and the cancellation rule. If the company charges by the hour, ask for a cap. Then compare like with like: a cheaper quote that leaves out bathrooms describes a different job.
